Green Onyx is part of the chalcedony family often mistaken for emerald and jade, the internal structure of this stone is much more sturdy and ranks seven on the Mohs hardness scale. A form of black onyx, Green Onyx can be found in mythological evidence, mentioned in the bible and archelogists have discovered artifacts: swords, amulets, and even armour made of this stone. Green Onyx has been found around burial sites in archeological evidence where ancient magical practices have taken place. It is believed in some cultures the stone is capable of imprisoning and containing demons. 
 
Green Onyx is used over centuries by healers and spritual practitioners, believed to assist with a multitude of emotional, spiritual, physical and metaphysical issues.
